Time

Most people to day have some sort of mechanism that can tell them what time it is. Do you remember the song from the group Chicago, "Does anybody really know what time it is?" I believe it was one of their first songs to hit the charts. But the concept was that we are all so busy that we really don't know what time it is in our lives. We're all so busy doing "things" and "stuff" that what really is important in our lives goes by so fast and you can't push the undo button!

The concept of time exists because everything that has life dies so we measure that existence in increments of time. If none of us died, time would have no value. But we will all die eventually, physically speaking, but our spirits live forever. But our physical bodies don't last forever. What would you do if you were told you had only a month or couples of months left to live? What would be your priorities? How would you view the various things in your life?

God has given us night and day to accomplish the things we need to do. The problem is that we add so many things to each day that we get stressed out trying to accomplish all the tasks. As Christians, we need to start our day spending time with God. But since we have piled up our lives with so much, we take away the time for God with the "other" things in our lives. So what is the result from not seeking God for your day and even the next 6 months? Basically, you're on your own. You are letting your thinking run your life and we are all imperfect creatures. We make mistakes but God does not and He has created plans for all of us. We need to take the time first thing in the morning and ask Him about our upcoming day. There's nothing wrong in praying at night but that's like saying grace at the end of your meal. Every thing we do, we should go to God first and ask Him to guide us.

How do you establish your priorities in life without seeking God about your plans? When you're hurting, who do you go to? God says in the Bible to seek Him and He will direct your paths. He knows exactly how you can accomplish everything. Whatever you need to accomplish, do whatever it takes to start out with God even if it's a 30 second prayer. Whatever you need to accomplish, go to God and ask Him to lead you and give you wisdom. It's all about relationship and not religion. It's not about a figurine on a cross in a church but the spirit of God in your heart!
